**Author Note: So this is my first readerxcountry story so please be kind. Thanks. So this is technically a reader x Germany story, but the reader will have other encounters. Hope you enjoy**
You stood poised on the tip of your toes. Orchestrated music echoing in your ears. You took two light steps and spun, but then you stopped yourself. You sighed and leaned against the railing that ran along a wall of mirrors.
“Nervous?” said a voice.
You turned to see Ivan standing in the doorway. He was dressed in dark blue turtleneck and nice beige dress pants. You smiled at him as he walked up to you.
“A little.” you said.
He rapped his arms around your shoulders and you around his midsection.
“You'll do perfect. But are you ready for your other performance?” he asked as he stroked your face with the back of his hand.
“Well I've been studying up on Mr. Germany for three months now. I think I can handle it.” you said looking up at him.
“Good. Any information you find out that you think is useful you send it to me.” he said.
“I will.” you told him.
“Hmm.” he said kissing the top of your head, “I'm going to miss you my little sunflower.”
“I'll miss you too.”
He leaned in and gave you a light kiss on the lips.
“Now let's go have some dinner and then we'll return to the theater for your performance, da?”
“Sound good to me.”
Your stomach felt like it had knots in it. You stood back stage, your white swan costume fitted to your figure, and constantly shifted back and forth. You were nervous about the performance, but more than that your assignment. You had to spy on Ludwig Beilshmidt or a.k.a Germany for Russia, it would be the first time you and Ivan would be apart since you met him.
You had fled from the orphanage you had been place in after your parents disappearance. You wanted to find them and so you joined a band of gypsies. With them you traveled across Europe, but eventually you gave up on finding them. A thought had been set in your mind: They probably never wanted you. So out of despair you had wandered away from the gypsy camp during a trip through Russia. Cold and starving you passed out. Sometime then he must have found you, saved you. He took care of you, loved you and you would be eternally grateful to him. That's why you were doing this. For him.
“Cue in five minutes Ms. _______.” called a stage-hand.
You nodded to him and did some last minute stretches to loosen yourself up. As well as relax your troubled mind.
“________.” you heard some say.
You turned to see Ivan's boss walking up to you.
“I just came to inform you that the axis powers will be sitting in the box beneath Ivan's. You've seen pictures of Germany, so I know you'll have no trouble in identifying him.”
“Oh and one more think. I want as much information as possible. You're going to have to make him trust you and the only way I see that happening is that you make him fall in love with you.”
The thought made your stomach knot up again, but you couldn't protest. If it had to be done, it had to be done.
“I understand, sir.” you said.
“Good. Now I believe your on.” he said and left.
The stage had darkened and you quickly stepped out. You found your position and stuck a pose. The music started and the lights came back on. You twirled and danced across the stage; the other dancers following you. When you had to posed you tilted your head over to Ivan's box. He gave you a reassuring smile. You couldn't smile back in the middle of the performance, so instead you looked down below to where the axis countries were seated. Immediately you found yourself looking right at Ludwig. His intense cold blue eyes were focused on the stage. His blonde hair was slicked back and his muscular form was fitted nicely under a tuxedo. He was one of the handsomest men you had ever seen. Yet he seemed so cold. That would make your job a lot harder.
You had to move again and danced over to the far left of the stage (for those facing the stage the right) and you had to pause again. This time when you looked up you noticed he was looking right at you. Well most people were, you were the prima ballerina, but still his gaze seemed focused on you.
The rest of the performance went on this way, with you sneaking glances up at him. When it was over you returned back stage to change. Due to it being opening night of Swan Lake, you had to go out and meet the public. It was the company's policy. It would give you the chance to first meet Ludwig.
You changed into a beautiful, long blue evening gown and returned to the theater's grand lobby. Ivan found you first, before you found the other countries.
“Remember we have to be indifferent to each other.” he told you quickly.
“I know. I will be. The question is can you?” you teased.
“I can be a cold as Siberian ice.” he said breaking off from you.
You didn't want to walk up with him. You made you way around a bit, greeting the other patrons, before making your way to the large group of countries. The allies already knew who you were, but they also knew about Russia's plan and were even promised some information. So they to had to pretend not to know you. France approached you first, which he would have done whether he knew you you or not. He gave you kiss on your hand.
“Mademoiselle, you performance tonight was absolutely incredible.” France said.
“Why thank you Mr.?” you asked.
“Francis Bonnefeuille, but you may call me Francis.”
“Pleasure to meet you.”you said.
The rest of the allies introduce each other; Arthur, Alfred, Yao and Ivan. Then you turned your attention to the axis.
“And you gentlemen?” you asked.
“I am Kiku Honda.” said the Japanese man with a bow.
“Ve, I am Feliciano Vargas!” said the Italian with much excitement.
You giggled at his silliness, “Nice to met you Feliciano.”
Last to introduce himself was Ludwig.
“Ludvig Beilschmidt. I must say I really admired your dancing this evening. It takes quite an athletic ability to be a ballerina.
“Yes it does. I've worked hard to get where I am. Thank you for the compliment, I'm glad you enjoyed the performance.” you said giving him a sweet smile.
He gave you a small smile back.
“You might even have the pleasure of seeing the performance again, Rudwig.” Kiku interjected. “I hear the company will soon be traveling to Germany.”
“Really?” Ludwig said looking at you.
“Oh yes. Our production manager wanted to take a world tour. Our company is regarded as one of the best ballet company's in the world. We'll stay in Germany for 6 months before moving on to the rest of Europe and eventually New York.”
“That must be exciting!” Italy said.
You laughed, “Yes I'm very excited! I love traveling.”
You noticed Arthur check his watch, “Oh, I am so sorry Ms. ________, but my friends and I must be going.”
“It's quite alright. I understand how late it is. I'm grateful to you for coming to show. Good evening.” you said to the Allies.
The Allies bid you and the Axis powers goodbye and after they left you turned your attention back to Ludwig.
“I wonder Mr. Beilschmidt if I might ask a favor?” you said.
“A favor?” he questioned. A slight bit of pink showed on his cheeks.
“I didn't want to ask it when the other men were here, but I've always wanted to see Germany. And I was wondering if during my time there if you would be my personal tour guide?”
He relaxed a little after you finished your sentence, “Of course. I vould be happy to.”
“I appreciate it.” you said with a smile. You looked at all there of them.
“Well, gentlemen it was a pleasure to meet all of you. Thank you for coming tonight. I hope you enjoy the rest of your evening.
You spoke that last sentence with your eyes on Ludwig.
“Good evening.” you said as you left.
Ludwig watch as Fraulein _______ walked away. He found her sweet and charming, not to mention beautiful. Her performance had captivated him. She was strong, but graceful when she danced. He thought at one moment during the performance she was looking right at him, but he must have imagined it.
“Ludwig!” His thoughts were interrupted by Feli.
“You like Senorita` ________ don't you?” Feli said.
“I...erm... just admired her dancing.” he said feeling his cheeks grown hot.
“You must have riked it very much Ludwig-san.” Kiku said.
“Let's just go back to the hotel, you two.” Ludwig said pinching the bridge of his nose.
“Ve ~ Ludwig likes _______!” Feli exclaimed.
“Feliciano keep your voice down!” he said loudly.
“Ruwig, I believe you're the one who is being loud.” Kiku said.
He just sighed. It was going to be a long night.
